ARMY OF ANYONE: FILTER/STP Supergroup Just Wants To Make Music

Launch Radio Networks reports: ARMY OF ANYONE is the first new "supergroup" of 2006, featuring FILTER frontman Richard Patrick, ex-STONE TEMPLE PILOTS bassist Robert DeLeo and Dean DeLeo, and former DAVID LEE ROTH drummer Ray Luzier. Robert DeLeo told Launch that the four veteran musicians joined forces for one simple reason. "We just wanted to get together and just make some music," he said. "You know, I think we've made music long enough to realize what we don't want and what we do want, and I think, you know, what we did want and what we do want is just to have the chance to make some music with people that we really dig hanging out with. And when people hear the music here, I think it's gonna be evident that that has happened and is happening."

ARMY OF ANYONE is currently mixing its self-titled debut album with Andy Wallace (NIRVANA, WHITE ZOMBIE, SLAYER, KORN) for a tentative June release. The first single from the record has yet to be selected.

Richard Patrick said that FILTER is not finished, but that ARMY OF ANYONE is his main priority now.

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS officially disbanded in 2003, when lead singer Scott Weiland joined VELVET REVOLVER.
